Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) consists of a group of individuals who pledge support to a farm so that the growers and consumers share the risks and benefits of food production. In return for a fee or pledge of support, they receive shares in the farm's bounty throughout the growing season, as well the satisfaction of knowing that they are participating directly in their food production. Members usually also share in the risks of farming, including poor harvests due to unfavorable weather or pests.
