Since 1955 the Cowtown Rodeo has presented the thrills and excitement of a truly American Cowboy Tradition every week - this season marks 53 years. Howard "Stoney" Harris first started a rodeo in Woodstown, NJ in 1929. He held an annual rodeo until 1938 as a feature of the Salem County Fair, the rodeo was held on main street in Woodstown.
In 1961 Howard (Stoney's son) bought Cowtown Rodeo, the livestock auction, farmers market, 1200 acres of land and a 2500 seat arena from his father. A new 4,000 seat arena was built in 1967. The rodeo was televised for several years and has become very well known in the industry for it's bucking stock and bulls. The show starts every Saturday night at 7:30.
Cowtown is also famous for the Flea Market and Auction. The flea market is open every Tuesday and Saturday year round from 8 AM to 4 PM. The Cowtown Rodeo and Flea Market is located on Route 40 in Pilesgrove just a couple of miles north of Woodstown.
